Four Demon Deacons Named to ACC All-Academic Team

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Aileen Davis, Minou Gimbrere, Raisa Schiller and Regina Shannon were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's Field Hockey All-Academic squad for the 2007-08 season.

Minou Gimbrere, mathematical economics major, and Davis, who will declare a major this summer, also picked up All-Conference honors for their stellar 2007 performances.

Gimbrere, a midfielder/forward from Zwolle, Netherlands, played in all 22 contests and was a team leader in assists with nine for the season. Davis a defender/midfielder out of Edinburgh, Scotland had three goals and four assists in 2007 and was named a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NHFCA) All-American.

Davis also earned a spot on the NHFCA Division I All-Academic Squad for the 2007-08 season.

Sophomores Raisa Schiller and Regina Shannon were Wake Forest's first-time honorees on the All-Academic team. Midfielder/forward Schiller played in 21 games in 2007, while Shannon netted seven goals from her midfield position.
